Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Kay Hagan today addressed approximately 200 North Carolina business leaders and Chamber of Commerce members during the 16th Annual North Carolina Business and Economic Development Summit in Washington. Hosted by members of the North Carolina Congressional delegation, the summit gives businessmen and women an opportunity to hear from federal government officials, political analysts and others about issues affecting the state's economy.

"Jobs are my number one, number two and number three priorities," said Hagan. "I've been traveling around the state on my North Carolina Back to Work Jobs Tour - to small businesses, workforce development offices, manufacturing plants and community colleges - to gather ideas and initiatives that will move our state forward. I will continue working to put our economy back on track, and I'm committed to working with my colleagues to get North Carolina back on the job."

During her speech, Hagan said that she is focused on averting devastating sequestration cuts at the end of the year and is committed to working with her colleagues to enact a balanced deficit reduction plan that promotes our national security and gives businesses the confidence and stability they need to grow and create jobs.
