Hagan Announces $4.6M Grant for Improvements at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport
Monday, September 24, 2012
Greensboro, NC – U.S. Senator Kay Hagan today announced that Charlotte/Douglas International Airport has been selected to receive a $4.6 million Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant to rehabilitate the runway.
“This funding will create jobs while providing much-needed improvements to a crucial asset in the Charlotte area,” Hagan said. “Key investments in infrastructure will set up Charlotte and the entire state for long-term economic growth and competitiveness. I am pleased that Charlotte/Douglas is receiving this important funding.”
The grant will fund Phase I of the reimbursement of the runway rehabilitation project, which is needed to maintain the structural integrity of the pavement and to minimize foreign object debris.
