  • Budget

    Senator Hagan believes our unsustainable debt threatens America's ability to pursue our priorities and respond to crises. Since coming to the Senate, she has urged Democrats and Republicans to come together to work on a long-term, balanced and bipartisan plan to get our fiscal house in order.

  • Civil Rights

    Hailing from the city where the "Greensboro Four" altered the course of our nation's civil rights history forever, Senator Hagan believes that all Americans deserve an equal opportunity to attend a quality school, earn a good living, have their voices heard at the ballot box, and be treated with dignity and respect.

  • Education

    Senator Hagan, a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, believes that a quality education is central to economic opportunity and future prosperity. To compete in a global economy, our students must receive an education that will prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead of them. 

  • Energy

    Senator Hagan knows that North Carolina can lead the nation in the new energy economy, and she supports a comprehensive approach to meeting the energy challenges of the 21st century.

  • Environment

    North Carolina's diverse natural resources are central to the state's economy and provide excellent opportunities to hunt, fish and hike. Senator Hagan loves to explore North Carolina's great outdoors with her family and believes that protecting our natural environment is essential to supporting our state's economy.

  • Ethics and Accountability

    Senator Hagan is a strong believer that our government exists to serve the people, and as such the people are entitled to a government that is responsive, transparent, and accountable.

  • Farming and Rural

    Agriculture has been the bedrock of North Carolina’s culture and economy for generations.  Senator Hagan will work to ensure that North Carolina’s strong agricultural tradition continues to thrive in the future...

  • Health Care

    In these tough economic times, Senator Hagan knows that getting access to health care and the fear of falling ill is at the top of many peoples’ minds. 

  • Middle Class

    Senator Hagan has been a champion for the middle class throughout her career in public service. On issues such as college affordability, homeownership, responsible budgeting and tax code fairness, Senator Hagan believes it is critical that the middle class have a voice in Washington. 

  • Military

    North Carolina is the most military-friendly state in the nation, and as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator Hagan is working hard to keep it that way. 

  • National Security

    As Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Emerging Threats Subcommittee, Senator Hagan oversees several aspects of our national security that are critical for rooting out terrorism and protecting our nation. 

  • Second Amendment

    Senator Hagan knows that responsible gun ownership is part of the fabric of North Carolina. She is working to protect the constitutional right to bear arms and works to ensure that any legislation in this area meets the basic test of being commonsense and protecting the rights of responsible gun owners in North Carolina. 

  • Seniors

    Senator Hagan is advocating on behalf of North Carolina's 1.1 million seniors to ensure that they receive the respect and care they deserve in their retirement.

  • Small Business

    Small businesses are the engine of the North Carolina economy, representing more than 98 percent of North Carolina's private sector employers and nearly half of our state's jobs. Senator Hagan, a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, believes it is essential to create a better climate for small businesses to create jobs and grow.

  • Trade

    Senator Hagan believes U.S. trade policy must treat American-made products and businesses fairly. It should also hold foreign companies and countries accountable. Our trade policy should support economic growth and job creation for all North Carolinians, especially middle-class families. Senator Hagan believes the federal government must help ensure North Carolina businesses and workers can compete on a level playing field.

  • Veterans

    Senator Hagan is deeply committed to keeping our promises to our veterans. She has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life for North Carolina’s heroes by ensuring they receive the care and support they deserve.
