Middle Class
Senator Hagan has been a champion for the middle class throughout her career in public service. On issues such as college affordability, homeownership, responsible budgeting and tax code fairness, Senator Hagan believes it is critical that the middle class have a voice in Washington.
In her first months in office, Senator Hagan supported the passage of a $2,500 tax credit to help middle-class families pay for college. Senator Hagan continues to fight for fair tax policies that provide relief to middle class families. She supported Wall Street reform legislation to ensure taxpayers on Main Street are never again asked to bail out Wall Street's mistakes.
